50000 for a gift card?!

I thought I was close to being able to get one as since the last gift card I got in July I have managed to build up over 5000 coins but saw that it's increased to 50000?! 

It's ridiculous! It'll take months/years - especially as it never includes all my steps (it always shows less than my watch and health app) plus they'll probably increase it to 100k when I get close enough!!
