Someone else posted about plants you can eat which got me thinking about the plants I eat. Around 3 years ago I started a journey to get healthy and get off the medicine cabinet full of medicines I was taking (I felt like a walking pharmacy).
I came across consuming dandelions to help manage blood sugar, cholesterol, and detoxify one's liver. This weed that grows rampant in my yard every spring and all summer could potentially do all that?!?! And it wouldnt cost me anything?
I am not a doctor or in the medical profession and the research I did is 3 years old and was based on my needs. But if you have any of the following conditions {diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, excess body weight, inflammation, liver toxicity, digestive problems} and are curious, I strongly encourage you to do your own research from reputable sources, such as:
1) https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/dandelion-benefits
2) https://health.clevelandclinic.org/dandelion-health-benefits
3) https://www.webmd.com/diet/benefits-of-dandelion-greens
AND speak to your healthcare professional. Dandelions are diuretics (cause you to urinate) and can interact with other medications/conditions. Be smart and safe people!
