Is the Viet like French?

The Vietnamese people vocabulary sound much like French with some words such as shirt or bread or other things that sound so like I think it's because the French Vietnam met the Vietnamese got influenced most of the things they say or just Vietnamese versions of the word in French, so French, the Vietnamese are so because one Banh Mi Has pate which is a French thing and also other items such as Bo Ne Which is a cooked steak and eggs with potato and cheese with veggies and a bread baguette, so the French should be pretty alike in someways
