M4 Joker

Directed by Todd Phillips, “Joker” gives us a chillingly plausible origin story for the infamous central character. Set in the gritty streets of Gotham City, the film follows Arthur Fleck (masterfully portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix), a failed comedian who wears two masks: one as a clown for his day job and another as a desperate attempt to connect with the world around him. Isolated, bullied, and disregarded by society, Arthur embarks on a slow descent into madness, ultimately transforming into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.
