I'll be honest, at first our relationship was not especially friendly, because it kept eating the foliage off my sweet potatoes. But I knew I would never try to get rid of the groundhog - they're native to my area and important for healthy soil. So I put a fence around my crops and now the groundhog mostly eats the stuff that grows wild in the yard, like the (also native) American burnweed in the pic.
