Have you ever noticed how there are some people who seems to be able to manage life almost seamlessly?
I didn't know I was seen as that until a few people came to me and told me that I look like I'm fine all the time.
That's not true. I'm human with ADHD. That comes with anxiety AND depression.
I do know that I am relentless with my self-care though.
When...
I'm starting to get mad at the world easily. I eat.
I'm starting to get mad at myself after failing at a project. I take myself out on a date.
I'm starting to get mad at my spouse and/or kids. I binge-watch/read/game.
I'm too anxious. I walk and listen to music.
I'm heartbroken or nervous. I sing.
I'm too excited. I dance.
I'm too lost. I write.
Everytime, I feel heightened emotions, I have an action that comes with it to regulate it to a calm it down to an "at ease" state. Because only when I'm in a state of ease, does the information I need to move forward comes in and makes it easier to move forward.
This is self-care.
