Who's the real winner?

Do you know anything about the history of Korea? Most specifically the Korean War?

Once upon a time, Korea used to be only one country. However, relations between the communist countries China and Russia and their counterpart UN and led by the US were very tense. North Korea invaded the South with support of their allies and the war was fought over three years between 1950 and 1953. Then they decided to divide the country into 2: North and South Korea.

Nowadays, the countries are still divided with tensions at all time high. However, if you ever go travelling to South Korea and end up finding a map of Korea, you will be sure to come across the map of the whole Korean peninsula, like it has never been separated.

What do the Paris Olympics 2024 got to do with all that?

Well, it has been an historic moment for the two countries, at least sportwise.

Put these three countries to the Olympic podium and you will see:

1st Place 🥇 China (Wang Chuchin/Sun Yingsha)

2nd Place 🥈 North Korea (Ri Jong Sik/Kim Kum Yong

3rd Place 🥉 South Korea (Lim Jong-Hoon/Shin Yu Bin

This is the final result of the Table Tennis Mixed Double.

What's happened next?

Well, something that really went down to history. The South Korean duo Lim Jong Hoon and Shin Yu Bin grabbed their phone and took a selfie with their North Koreans and Chinese "Enemies" and made them their new friends.

This is how diplomatic relations should be conducted.

The sport unifies, it does not divide!!!

I really wish the people on power would learn from sport people!!!

LET'S HAVE THE WORLD 🌎 🌍 UNITED! SUPPORT SPORT!
