The 2024 Summer Olympics, hosted by Paris from July 26 to August 11, was a major global event that drew over 10,500 athletes from more than 200 nations. It marked the third time Paris hosted the Games, the first being in 1900 and the second in 1924. 

A major focus of the Paris 2024 Olympics was sustainability. The Games aimed to be the greenest in history, with a goal to halve the carbon footprint compared to previous Games. This included the use of 95% existing or temporary venues, the deployment of a fleet of electric vehicles for official transportation, and the construction of the Olympic Village to meet high environmental standards, with a focus on renewable energy and waste reduction.
