"A NEARLY NORMAL FAMILY" -Let’s share Netflix Series reviews! Review Event💛 Topic #1

"A NEARLY NORMAL FAMILY" (Netflix miniseries, that I recently saw) tells us about trauma, violence against women, hateful crimes. Murder included. But it does so by staging a family that is deconstructed piece by piece and then comes back together, starting over again.

At the center of the plot is suspicion, about various betrayals : the victim of violenze suspects her friend, the victim's father suspects his wife, public opinion is not only suspicious, it has already condemned the victim...

But the suspicion is resolved, in all the various subplots, thanks to solidarity : the mother who makes the right choice for her daughter (the victim of violence), however difficult and painful; the husband (victim's father) who makes the right choice for his wife (victim's mother). The victim who makes the right choice for her friend…

The message is very clear. Not only are we shown how sexual crimes are destined to afflict a large number of people, all those who surround the victims, but we are also explained how only solidarity between all these people is the only, true, concrete support for victims themselves.

This Netflix miniseries addresses the issue of violence against women from a rather rare point of view and opens our eyes to reality : about a world that almost never believes in victims, that blames them, that ends up destroying the lives of all those who try to help them.

Only the decision to help each other can make a difference : as also and precisely in this miniseries, in a story that speaks to us of truth, but not of justice. Because, in the end, justice is not done.

The ending is bitter, unfair, heavy : perhaps to recall the beginning, the premise of this story, the start of a nightmare.

The authors claim the right to make hatred, revenge and anger triumph. And this, certainly, is an element, as unusual in a story like this, as it is destined to cause discussion...

This Netflix miniseries, "A NEARLY NORMAL FAMILY", is absolutely not to be missed...!
