Warrior Nun, an American fantasy drama created by Simon Barry based on a comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn. The streaming television series was eventually featured in a film adaptation. This is, yet, one of my favorite Netflix shows.

For those of you who love fantasy drama, supernatural powers, detective style, superhero, BL love story, Warrior Nun is for you! Without spoiling much detail, the story begins with a 19-year-old woman, Alba Baptista, who awakened in a morgue --- I won't be explaining how. But she wakes up with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her. In the show, she goes through a series of ups and downs with her new power but eventually finds herself at home, with new friends, and a girlfriend, [Sister] Beatrice to rely on. Don't worry, they are not blood-related, "sister" is a respectful way to address other Catholic church members. Although Catholicism acts as the backbone of this story, fantasy drama is a genre, and the plot is fabulous. The actors that play these characters do a phenomenal job expressing all the emotions and drama, making the show more realistic.
I don't exactly remember how I came across this series, but I was searching for recommended movies to watch and came across this movie title and review. I found it interesting and once I began watching, I was amused at how realistic everything looked and seemed. The story expresses themes of real-life problems, heartbreaks, and love.
However, for those who are uninterested in unfinished shows, I would not recommend them, only because season 3 has been canceled. However, building that suspense is a strategy that I love incorporating into movies, even if it is unintentional. It allows many writers to write what happens next (fanfictions) and, us, enjoy the created endings.
Give it a go and let me know how you think of it! Please give me some recommended movies based on this movie as well!
