Mountain Fleece (Persicaria amplexicaulis), is a stunning perennial with upright stems adorned with spikes of vibrant flowers, adding a splash of color and texture to the garden.
The roots and leaves are highly medicinal. In Swat Kohistan, they are used for curing ulcer, rhematic pain, backache, gout and for eyesight. It is also used for digestion problems, particularly diarrhea. Some people apply it directly to the affected area for mouth and throat infections, and for wounds.
