Rosa Chinensis (also known commonly as the China rose, Chinese rose, or Bengal rose) is reddish purple, disease resistant, and is evergreen in warm climates. This rose can be treated as a shrub or trained as a climber, reaching 10 feet high and 6 feet wide.

It is used in traditional medicines and is very good for stomach problems. Flower petals, fruit, leaves, seeds and stem are all edible . The young vegetative plant parts, flower buds and flowers are brewed and eaten as a herb, for example, as a soup. From the rosehips, a thin fleshy layer that surrounds the seeds is eaten raw or cooked.
