Gift card issue

So i used 5000 coins for a apple gift card recently (around august 29 at 6:30pm), and i need another one to get an app i want. And so i spend another 3 DAYS playing a game to help get the required coins quickly. Now i have 10,000, so i could get 2. Now it tells me that the maximum redemption limit is reached, wait 96 hours for it to refresh. Ok, fine... i guess (why do you do this?), This is september 2 at 2:00am, now i am typing this at around 10:00am, and it still says 96 hours. HUH? Is it by a daily basis that it shows this? Perhaps one gift card a week? If yes, that is kind of stupid that we need to wait.
