(M21P05) Medical info I learned today: rhabdomyolysis
One of my colleagues was having severe pain due to rhabdomyolysis.
In simple English, muscle tissue melts, and its protein goes into the blood. Then the kidney fails because it cannot handle the toxin, releasing dark, reddish urine.
They say that early detection can reduce kidney damage. That means if you are looking at dark urine, your kidney is already damaged, and you are in critical condition.
Causes include injuries and medications. For people like us who care about our health and participate in "home workout" challenges, this is a cautionary tale to keep in mind. DO NOT EXERT YOURSELF! Balance and moderation are the keys to a healthy lifestyle.
