It can be very difficult because it depends on a lot of variables. If you are a woman of a certain age, then your hormones will be against you and it will be harder than if it is just because you have eaten a bit too much over Christmas...
So, the first step is to work out WHY?
Why have you gained a bit of weight?
(AND, why do you want to change it...?)
If the answer to the second question is a strong enough motivator, then you will probably succeed.
Being active (through exercise or general mobility) will help. But you must look at diet too. Are you eating too much of the wrong foods? (Too much fat? Too much sugar?) And do you know about UPF? Keeping a diary to record your exercise and your meals will help you highlight where you can improve.
It is important to find an activity that you can stick to - if you enjoy dance, then go dancing. If you enjoy the gym, then do that... If you like to swim or cycle, then do that! You won't maintain a habit if you don't enjoy it, so find something you ENJOY.
Be honest with yourself, and be kind to yourself, and slowly build up strong habits. That's the only way you can do it and maintain it. There is no easy or quick fix...
GOOD LUCK!
