When I started losing weight, one of the first muscle groups I focused on was my core. It is so vital to have a strong core as it is the foundation of many everyday movements. My core was weak after years of unuse and then compounded by multiple pelvic fractures and the hardware implants holding me together. All that abuse and neglect led to debilitating back spasms. To get back on track, I started with reverse crunches. They work the abs and core muscles with a lower risk of injury than traditional crunches.
