In figuring out how to stay healthy this year, I have realized that I actually have an autoimmune disease that affects my wrists' and ankles' ability to support my body weight. As such I rarely dedicate time to exercise my chest. Beyond the typical bench presses and progressive overload, I tend to work on endurance and stamina. Due to my autoimmune disorder, I can only perform the pictured pushups for a few minutes at a time, however I have noticed a strengthening of my pectoral muscles as I maintain my alignment. I switch between the weights together and apart for variety, another challenge for me during exercise. I do three sets of 10 push ups at both widths and rest and repeat for two more sets. It's not the most exciting but it definitely gets my heart going and lengthens the muscles, a great way to start the week!
